Capacity Building

Helping organizations take their first steps with confidence.

Many organizations know that trusted digital documents and data sharing matter, but not where to start. As a neutral not-for-profit, we help them build the knowledge and the plan to move forward. All of our capacity building is delivered on request and tailored to each organization. It applies to any sector, from municipalities and public agencies to businesses and not-for-profits.

Digital Credentials Training

  • Digital Credentials 101: Fundamentals. For executives and decision-makers: what digital credentials are, how they reduce fraud and privacy risk, and how to get started.
  • Digital Credentials 102: Introduction to Implementation. For program and technical leads: governance, trust frameworks, standards and the building blocks of trusted credential systems.

Each delivery is updated to reflect current standards and practice, including trust registries, trusted data sharing and AI agents.

Guided roadmap

Toward digitally signed, verifiable documents

Most organizations still rely on paper forms, scanned PDFs and manual checks that are slow, costly and easy to forge. Moving to digitally signed documents and credentials, which can be verified whether they are shown on screen or printed, is first a change in how your organization works. The guided roadmap builds on our Digital Credentials Training: once your team understands the fundamentals, we help you take stock of where you stand and plan the next steps.

We bring your team to work through questions such as:

  • Business processes and costs: What do paper forms, PDFs and manual checks cost you today, in time, errors, rework and exposure to fraud?
  • People and governance: Who will lead the change, who decides, with what resources, and who needs to be involved inside and outside your organization?
  • Legal and conformity requirements: Which laws, privacy obligations and conformity requirements apply to your documents? Where is your data stored, where does it travel, and whose laws apply?
  • Security and trust: Which documents are most exposed to fraud? Who needs to trust what you issue, and whose documents do you need to trust?
  • Technology: How will your existing systems issue, receive or check digital documents and data?

Some organizations are ready to move forward. Others discover gaps to close first. Either way, you leave with a clear picture of where you stand, where the gains are, where to focus, where outside support would help, and the right questions to bring to the experts, standards bodies and providers you choose to work with.

AI agents. As AI agents begin to handle documents and data, new questions arise about authority and accountability. We bring these questions into the conversation, and will develop this area further with the right experts.

This approach was first developed with organizations through a program supported by the City of Gatineau, alongside the launch of our Digital Credentials Training.

Help shape the next edition of our training. We welcome partners interested in co-developing an updated curriculum with us.
